QN:1
If two temperatures differ by 25 degrees on celsius scale, what is the difference on Fahrenheit scale.
Solution
Let temperatures in Celsius scale be c¹ and c² in fahnreheit be f¹ and f².
Given
c¹-c²=25°
f¹-f²=required.
Hints.
(f¹-32)/9=c¹/5......(i)
(f²-32)/9=c²/5......(ii)
Take equation(i) into equation(ii)
(f¹-32)/9 - (f²-32)/9 = c¹/5 - c²/5
So we get.
(f¹-f²)/9 = (c¹-c²)/5
Hence
f¹ - f² = 9/5(c¹ - c²).
Then
f¹ - f² = 9/5(25). came from (c²-c²)=25°
So that
f¹ - f² = 45°.
Thus deference in Fahrenheit scale is 45°.
